Socialite Zari Hassan is currently on her Tulambule Ne Z-Pearl of Africa Tour’, a campaign to market Uganda’s tourism in her capacity as the Tourism Ambassador of the country.
The 4 day tour that kicked off on Tuesday with a visit to the Equator in Mpigi District also saw her visit a local market for women called “Akatale Kaba Maama” on her way to Western Uganda.
During the brief visit, Zari had the chance to interact one on one with the women who opened up to her about their plight.
The mother of 5 has since taken to social media to document the visit and urge her fans and followers to never bargain for discounts with the women when buying from them because they face a lot of challenges trying to provide for their families, pay for their children’s education, among others.
Zari instead encouraged market goers to give the women hefty tips because they are real life hustlers.
“Yesterday we stopped at ‘Akatale kaba maama’ women’s market and had a chat with them. If you ever find a woman selling at a stall, plse dont bargain for discounts, just pay. Matter of fact top up something or better still leave the change behind. These are real life hustlers trying to keep their kids in school, medical bills etc as the rate of single mothers has risen lately.” Zari posted on her Instagram.
The ‘Tulambule Ne Zari’ campaign has entered day 3 today with the Boss Lady who has been joined by singer Iryn Namubiru setting off for the Game drive at Queen Elizabeth National Park.
