Zambia Premier League side Green Eagles Football club stands in pole position to acquire the services of KCCA FC right-back Filbert Obenchan.
Green Eagles were attracted by the player’s performance in the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup in Rwanda, helping the club clinch the championship.
Since rejoining the Lugogo outfit in 2017, the roving right-back has also won two Uganda Premier League titles, one Uganda Cup championship and a Pilsner super title.
However, the former Simba (now UPDF FC) talent whose contract at Lugogo expires at the end of this month is said to be in negotiations with KCCA over a contract renewal.
In case Obenchan leaves KCCA for Green Eagles, he will be the first foreigner to feature for the army side as the club currently uses Nationals.
Also, Tanzanian moneybags Azam Football Club are reportedly in pursuit of the Ugandan full-back.
