Yassar Mugerwa Joins St. Georges FC

Uganda Cranes midfielder Yassar Mugerwa has sealed a two year deal with Ethiopian giants St. George’s FC.

The young midfielder was recently dropped from South African money bags Orlando pirates during the preseason, illness just a season into his three and a half year contract.

He posted on his social media to confirm the move even though officials at St. George restrained (for unknown reasons) from confirming the deal to this website.

“When Allah has selected you, it doesn’t matter who else has rejected you or neglected you. Gods favor outways all opposition ….with this new challenge and change in environment  will make me a better man. ### St George,” Mugerwa posted.

It is estimated that the 22 year old midfielder will earn in the range of $4,000 to $5,000 per month though not officially disclosed.

Yassar started his football career at Super Cubs academy and later moved to Sports Club Victoria in the 2013/14 season where he left after one year to Tax collectors, URA FC. He joined Orlando pirates in August 2015.

He will unite with Ugandan trio of Odonkara, Isaac Isinde and Brian Umony at the club.
