Women’s Elite League to Kick Off in November, Groups Drawn

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) women’s Elite league is set to kick off early next month after several postponements.

The development comes after a meeting on Wednesday at FUFA headquarters in Mengo, health Kampala where the groups where the teams will be playing were revealed.

The third edition is expected to kick off in the first weekend of November(4th -5th) although the opening were not announced.

Darius Mugoye, sildenafil the second vice President who attended the meeting revealed that each team will receive one million Uganda shillings ahead of the new season and also promised that the teams that did not get the jerseys last season will be able to get them very soon.


A total of sixteen teams will play in the third edition thus meaning the number of teams has been maintained from the previous edition.

Victoria group
Last season’s runners up She Corporates have been placed in Victoria group alongside Eastern Heroes, Gafford Ladies who reached the playoffs last season, Olila High School from Soroti, Ajax Queen Ladies,  Wakiso Hills and She Makerere. The eighth slot in this group will be taken on the winner between St. James and Uganda Martyr’s after a playoff game.

Elizabeth group
Defending champions Kawempe Muslim who will be seeking for a third title in a row has been drawn against Gadaffi Integrated academy a team that has been bought off by Fufa president Moses Magogo.


The other teams include Western United from Mbarara, Buikwe She Red stars, Muteesa I Royal University, Riness, Stallion ladies (formerly London College Nansana) and Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady cardinals.

Kawempe Muslim are the defending champions after defeating She Corporate 5-3 on spot kicks last season.
