Uganda’s film industry is undoubtedly growing, with a number of indigenous films and actors gaining both local and international recognition.
To grow further, film practitioners are hoping to lure more talents in the industry.
It’s against this backdrop that Women In Film Initiative has partnered with Makerere University and Film 256 to launch a project called ‘Creative Talks’.
The project will see different key players in the film industry like actors, directors, producers, screenwriters, among others inspire and share their experiences with aspiring film makers.
The inaugural ‘Creative Talks will take place today, Friday, November 9, at Makerere University and will feature actress Eleanor Nabwiiso (Rain), screenwriter and director Atwiine Lucky Lora (The Hostel) and actress Joanitta Bewulira-Wandera (The Last King Of Scotland) as guest speakers.
Women In Film Initiative is an organization under Film 256 that brings together different women film practitioners in Uganda like actors, screenwriters, sound engineers, cinematographers, producers and directors with an aim of promoting team work, growth, supporting each other and offering mentorship.
