Uganda senior National Women Football team the ‘Crested Cranes’ have dropped four slots as of the latest World FIFA rankings released on March 27th last Friday.
According to the new rankings, Uganda is now positioned 146th worldwide with 868 points, falling four slots from the 144th place it was ranked last year in December.
On the African continent, Uganda lies in the 25th position as per the latest rankings and 5th in the East and Central (CECAFA) region.
World champions United States of America (USA) remains on top with 2181 points, ahead of Germany, France, Netherlands and Sweden that follow in the order.
Nigeria, on 1614 points is highly ranked as number one on the African continent and 38th overall ahead of Cameroon (1453), South Africa (1434) and Ghana (1401) respectively.
Ethiopia having 1151 points is ranked number one in the East and Central African region despite being in the 111th position worldwide.
Kenya is the second in the region on 986 points ahead of Tanzania and Rwanda on 978 and 899 points respectively.
The Women rankings are published four times in a year, every after three months.
The next rankings are expected to be released in June, September and December.
