Woman Remanded for Attempting to Murder Colleague over COVID19 Relief Food

Makindye Grade One Magistrate Patience Lonah has charged and remanded to prison one Mariam Kukundakwe, a city business woman for attempting to murder Elias Tumuhwezi for failing to sell to her COVID19 relief food which had been given to him by Government

Ms Kukundakwe 27, is a resident of Kasanvu zone, Makindye division in Kampala distric.

She was remanded to Kigo prison until 8th July 2020 when she will appear before the Chief magistrate for plea taking.

The charge of attempted murder attracts a maximum sentence of life imprisonment on conviction.

Prosecution contends that Kukundakwe with others still on the run, on June 5th 2020 at Go-down zone Kisugu attempted to cause the death of Elias Twinomuhwezi.

The evidence on file indicates that the accused stabbed the victim in the stomach using a knife after a serious quarrel in which they accused him of refusing to sell her maize flour and beans which had been distributed by the Government.
