Uganda’s middle distance runner Winnie Nanyondo missed out on the podium finish during the final Diamond League in Doha on Friday evening.
Nanyondo finished in the fifth having clocked 2:00.49 in her season best during the 800m race.
Nanyondo was third during the final stretch but ran out of pace coming to the finish line.
Finishing 5th is an improvement for the young Ugandan, from the Golden Spike marathon in Ostrava, Czech republic where she finished eighth in 1500m.
Race favourite Faith Kipyegon (Kenya) won the race, clocking a timing of 1:57.68.
Esther Guerrero (Spain), Tracey Adelle (United Kingdom), and Alem Habitam (Ethiopia) followed in descending order.
