Uganda Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho had a bright start to his career in India with victory on his debut. Aucho made his first appearance for his new club East Bengal on Thursday in an Indian Super Cup game against Mumbai City.
The game played at Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneshwar saw East Bengal edge Mumbai City staging a comeback to win 2-1.
Veteran Cameroonian forward Achilles Emana gave the home side the lead 22 minutes into the game but East Bengal were quick to make amends and level matters through Yusa Katsumi four minutes later.
With 17 minutes left o n the clock, the visitors took the lead with Mahmoud Al Amna scoring the eventual winner as East Bengal sealed a berth into the last eight.
East Bengal will now face Aizawl FC in the quarterfinals.
Aucho joined the Indian side last month adding to the list of Ugandans now plying their trade in India. Others include Keziron Kizito, Musa Mudde, Henry Kisekka among others.
