Why Rachael Arinaitwe Mwine Quit NTV  

NTV news anchor Racheal Arinaitwe Tobarokoka Mwine yesterday announced she was quitting the Serena Hotel based television station under Nation Media Group.

She joins the long list of individuals that have left NTV for greener pastures.

Rachael has been at NTV for the past seven years anchoring prime time news, NTV Tonight.

She made the announcement on social media and later on after reading her last bulleting on television.

It was a very teary moment and ended with her now ex-colleagues gifting her with a flower bouquet and hugs including NTV News producer Linda Kibombo and Patricia Kigula NTV Digital Specialist during the live news bulletin session.

In her emotional statement, Rachael thanked her employers, family, friends and viewers for always supporting her and tuning in to watch news.

“Today, after a wonderful 7 years at what has become my second home. I do my final bulleting at this awesome media house”.

Rachael on her social media pages added that apart from being on television she had no idea how much her life would change from the random strangers that meet her, the many doors and opportunities that have opened up for her.


“Also, aka special thank you to omuntu wangye for being there and supporting me all the way, for boiling eggs for yourself for supper while l worked and waiting up for me every time”

Rachael seems to have ended her television career to start a new chapter in her life. She left NTV to venture into technology.

“I start a new chapter, working with some of the brightest minds in tech and looking forward to what the next 7 years have in store for me” Rachael concluded her message.

NTV has since revealed how grateful they are to have worked with Rachael and wished her the best in her new journey.

“NTV is extremely grateful and honoured to have worked with you, Rach. Your hard work and dedication were a great contribution to NTV Uganda. We wish you all the very best on your next journey.” NTV Uganda posted.
