What to Expect at Uganda’s ‘Halloween Spook Fest’ This Friday

Halloween as it sounds may be scary for some people, especially those who have fear for anything with even a bit of horror or monstrous character in it.

The festival is widely known in America as over 9 billion dollars is spent on the festival annually, making it among the country’s top commercial holidays with different cities hosting it in their respective towns.

This year, the festival already happened in some cities, started on October 26 and it will be running till November 1 at Secret Valley Wildlife Park in Ireland.

Halloween is also the short name to mean Allhalloween, All Hallows’ Evening and All Saint’s Eve which is celebrated on October 31 in Europe.

The word Halloween literally means the evening before All Hallows Day (or All Saints’ Day) celebrated on November 1.

The origin and meaning of Halloween are derived from ancient Celtic harvest festivals, but more recently we think of Halloween as a night filled with candy, trick-or-treating, pumpkins, ghosts and death.

In Uganda, ‘Halloween Spook Fest’, the party referred to as the biggest event by Ali Alibhai, who is also the organizer, will be held this Friday November 1st at Kingdom Kampala.

The Halloween Spook fest will be featuring USA’s DJ Kaila Troy, Italy’s Dark Meme and Voltan. The party will be hosted by Radio City’s Miss Deedan.

Ali told us that there will be a range of different activities lined up for the festival and not forgetting music mixes from local DJs including Chapat, RPM and Jo among others.
