Thursday evening, singer Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine was declared winner of the Kyadondo East by-election.
Beating his opponents with a landslide 77.7%, Bobi Wine didn’t only excite fans but fellow celebrities too.
Tone by one, they took to their social media handles to congratulate the now Honorable Kyagulanyi upon his win.
Swangz Avenue’s Vinka wrote “Bobi wine is the biki biki of the biki hehehe Congratulations HON. Kyagulanyi Sentamu the Ghetto President, people’s person.”
NTV the Beat show host Douglas Lwanga, undeniably Bobi’s supporter from day one noted that this is the time to respect musicians.
“Yeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyy musician Bobi Wine has won a seat as Member of parliament in actual sense Music has won,” he said, adding that “Victory is ours thanks for voting.”
Douglas advised Politicians to “stop taking artists as worthless people.”
Former Urban TV presenter Sheila Sempebwa wrote and said, “Become the change that your country has been waiting for… Congratulations Robert Kyagulanyi.”
Singer Irene Ntale also echoed the fact that “ This is a win for us as musicians,” also adding that “Maybe then People will learn to respect Musicians.”
Diaspora based Ex NTV presenter Robin Kisti took to her Instagram saying, “congratulations to a friend, now Hon Robert Kyagulanyi”
“The people have spoken and you are now our voice. I believe that much more change is coming to our country Uganda because now the youth have a voice in parliament.”
UBC TV presenter Calvin the Entertainer congratulated his “friend straight from the ghetto to the August house,” also noting that “Numbers don’t lie.”
Singer Eddy Kenzo, wrote and said, “I Congratulate not only Bobi Wine also the people of Kyadondo east for not accepting money, We all wanted change.”
