ChimpLyf yesterday reported that the body of businessman Ompal Singh Chadha, proprietor of popular Kampala hangout Wave Lounge Dance & Night Club was to be cremated.
Cremation is the disposal of a dad person’s body by burning it to ashes, typically after a funeral ceremony.
Chadha, 46 years died on Monday morning due to is believed to have been cardiac arrest.
He is survived by a wife Gurprit Kaur Chadha and one daughter Simran Kaur Chadha who both live in Mumbai-India.
ChimpLyf understands that it was his wife who decided to have him cremated to avoid the long formalities involved in transporting the body back to his ancestral home in Maharashtra, Mumbai-India.
The family of Chadha including wife and daughter are reported to have arrived in Uganda together with daughter yesterday.
We have since established that the cremation of Chadha is taking place today afternoon, Wednesday 22 August 2018 at 3pm at Hindu Crematorium along Lugogo bypass.
Besides owning the Kololo based hangout, Chadha was also a Telecom Engineer with a Diploma and MBA in Electronic & Telecommunication and Engineering from University of Mumbai.
He has also been working with Camusat Uganda as the Head of Managed Services along Mulwana Road since March 2014; responsible for Entire Network & Business Development of all Passive Infra Tower/Site Maintenance, Trouble Shooting, and Fueling of Passive Tower Network in Uganda.
Originally from Mumbai, Maharashtra, Chadha has been staying in Kampala living in Kololo next to Serena hotel behind MTN Towers.
