Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants Football Club has completed the signing of attacking midfielder Owen “Baba” Kasule, ChimpReports can confirm.
The pencil-thin midfielder joins the Purple Sharks on a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until the 2022/2023 season.
“Of course I feel comfortable having joined them and I’m happy. I have many targets now and I’m willing to work hard so that I can fulfill them like playing in the CECAFA and CHAN next year if all goes well,” Kasule told this website.
Wakiso Giants welcome a player with enviable close ball control, blessed with a quick change of pace, fancy dribbles and can pass the ball from a variety of ranges.
Kasule has previously played for All-stars Football Club – Mbiko, Mbiko United, Ntinda Athletic Club – Erimu, Nansana United and Kampala Junior Team (KJT).
For two years now, Kasule has been featuring for Buddu Ssaza in the Airtel Masaza football tournament.
In 2018, he played for Buddu as they lost the on the final to Singo adding to the fourth place finish the previous year.
Last year, he guided St Lawrence University to Pepsi University Football League finals, only to concede defeat to fellow finalists Uganda Christian University.
In the same year, he was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Best midfielder.
He is the first player to sign for the purple Sharks, hoping to better last season’s 10th place finish in the Uganda Premier League season.
