Wakiso Giants have parted ways with their head coach Ibrahim Kirya
just after guiding the team to the Uganda Premier League.
Kirya joined the team, formerly known as Kamuli Park, at the start of
the 2018-19 season in a one-year renewable contract with the sole aim
of guiding it into the top flight.
However, the club has decided to part ways with the coach with close
sources pointing at a rusting relationship between the coach, the
management and some players.
“Ibrahim Kirya has left his role as Wakiso Giants FC head coach after his one year contract at the club expired this week,” the club Chief Executive Officer Sula Kamoga announced.
“The club is thrilled with the work done by Kirya and his technical staff for the period they have been in charge, more so guiding the club to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and also taking the club to the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup in a space of just one year,” the statement from the CEO read further.
The club is rumoured to be in contact with Mbarara City FC head coach
Charles Livingstone Mbabazi and Alex Isabirye who parted with Nyamityobora at the end of the season.
Kamoga has already publicised the vacancy for suitable persons with a minimum of Caf B licence to apply.
