On Wednesday, Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants Football Club officially confirmed Douglas Bamweyana as their new head coach.
Bamweyana jets into the Purple Sharks’ dugout as a replacement for Deo Serwadda who was at the helm of the Wakiso based side last season.
After signing a three-year contract with the big spenders running until 2022/2023 season, Bamweyana was excited about the development.
“I’m excited about the project, the quality of the lads and the challenge to build onto the already booming club image. I and my technical team bring lots of experiences and lessons coupled with our commitment and determination,” Bamweyana told the Wakiso Giants official website.
He added, “Our most ardent target is to help our players develop into the best version of themselves individually and as a group to help foster the club’s objectives. In the long run, we should certainly look to challenge on all fronts for honours within 3 years.
The tactician holds vast experience having had stints at Express, Sports Club Villa and Maroons FC.
He will be deputized by Richard Ssali and Steven Bengo while Ali Kiggundu will be the goalkeepers’ Coach.
