Volleyball: Winning Coach Kawenyera Joins KCCA Volleyball Club

Four-time Uganda National Volleyball League winning Coach Johnson Kawenyera has joined KCCA Volleyball.

According to sources, Kawenyera joins Kampala City Council Volleyball Club from Rwandan outfits Rwanda Revenue Authority Volleyball Club (RRA).

Both parties (RRA and Kawenyera) agreed to mutually part ways and Kawenyera will now take full charge at the Kampala based side.

The FIVB Level -2 and high performance tactician previously coached at Ndejje Elite winning four titles in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Kawenyera who is a former national team player and 3-time league winner with Kampala Volleyball Club (KAVC) and Nkumba University helped KCCA to finish in the 2nd place in the 2019 National Volleyball League.

In a bid to regain their lost glory, KCCA has already recruited Oliver Kavunane, Harriet Ikapel, Shamim Nalukabwe, Maggie Namyalo and Verolyne Aanyu who have been attending Pre- Season training at Lugogo.

The players signed from Ndejje Elite and are expected to gear up the team prior to their participation in the 2020 Women’s African Club Championship in March.
