KAVC-A 0-3 Sport-S
Record Winners with 11 titles, KAVC-A will not be making a dozen following their exit in the hands of Sports-S in the 2017 Aziz Damani National Volleyball League playoffs.
Sport-S who had won game one by a 3-1 scoreline to lead 1-0 in the best of three, picked up another win with an easy 3-0 haul against KAVC-A in a game played at the MTN Indoor Arena in Lugogo.
“It was a tough one, and our boys knew that we should all come out and double our work but unfortunately we came out with many errors.
“We did not give ourselves a chance to play though i must add that it was one of those bad days in office,” said Shillah Omuriwe, KAVC-A coach.
Sport-S took 20-25, 24-26 and 21-25 leads in the order of the three sets to enter this year’s Finals.
“We wish Sport-S all the best because they showed that they can play as a team and hang on,” added Omuriwe.
In an after the game interview with Sport-S player Gayi Albert, he said:
“Most of our players have been busy with other attachments but they managed to come back here and put up a good show.
“KAVC-A were a strong side too because they managed to reach in 20s in all the 3 sets so we also had luck on our side.”
Finalists Sport-S now awaits on the winner between UCU and Nemo-Stars in the other semis which is still tied one all.
“Nemo Stars always gives us a bad time, they have beaten us on many occasions but this time we are good to go,” said Gayi.
