Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) president Hadija Namanda has appointed Salma Kairungi as the team manager for the National U-20 women’s team ahead of the Africa Age Group Nations Championship.
Kairungi who doubles as Nkumba University Ladies volleyball team manager will take charge of the national side which is currently in camp at Boni Consilii Girls’ Vocational Secondary School in Isingiro.
She is temporarily tasked to remotely manage the affairs of the U-20 National team until their arrival in Kampala for the qualification tournament in the late November.
Five countries in Tanzania, Egypt, Tunisia, Cameroon and hosts Uganda will take part in the tournament scheduled for 4th – 13th December at the MTV Indoor Arena, Lugogo.
Sixteen players have reported in the camp that is meant to last for two weeks before returning to Kampala a head of the December championship.
