Vivo Energy Uganda on Tuesday announced a partnership with Airtel Uganda to provide Airtel Money services to its customers at Shell service stations, reads a statement from Vivo Energy.
The service will enable Shell customers and Airtel Money users to seamlessly withdraw or deposit money at Shell stations using Airtel Money.
According to the statement, this step affirms Vivo Energy Uganda’s ambition to simplify the lives of its customers and make Shell stations a one stop destination, not only for fuelling and car services but also for convenience services.
“We are always finding new ways to add convenience for our customers, making their visits to our service stations more rewarding and relevant,” said Gilbert Assi the Managing Director Vivo Energy Uganda, at the launch event on September 19, 2017 at Shell Bugolobi.
“Our partnership today with Airtel affirms our objective to continuously offer innovative solutions to our growing number of customers. This service increases the number of points available for customers to conduct their money transactions in a secure and reliable environment.”
Speaking at the launch, Somasekhar V.G, the Airtel Managing Director said: “With over 80 Shell stations signed up as Airtel agents country wide, we are grateful for this partnership and we believe our customers will get to enjoy fast, secure and reliable transactions that is cash withdrawals and deposits.”
He added: “This partnership is in line with our customer promise of ensuring our Airtel money services are available countrywide. We are also happy to be a part of the promotion with Shell where customers will be winning instant Airtel airtime & many other prizes.”
The Shell–Airtel Money Promotion will run for two months and customers who transact over Shs15,000 will instantly win airtime.
Officials have told this website that those who transact over Shs1 million will automatically be entered into a draw to win free fuel or shopping vouchers worth Shs50,000, to be used at Shell service stations.
