After suffering exit from the Total CAF confederation cup last week at the hands of South Africa’s Platinum stars, http://cornerstone-edge.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sync/class.jetpack-sync-module-network-options.php Vipers will now shift attention to Uganda cup.
Vipers who are the defending champions take on boggy side Kiboga Young this Thursday at the round of 16.
This will be the first domestic game that Vipers will play at the newly constructed St. Mary’s stadium. The only game played at the ground against Platinum stars in the Confederation cup.
Kiboga Young took everyone by surprise when they knocked out SC Villa at the round of 64 before going past Kampala regional league side Thunders FC advancing on penalties in both occasions.
Vipers head coach Jorge Miguel Da Costa is not taking the game lightly and is expected to field his strongest team.
“Our aim is to get to the final and win but you cannot think about the final until you’ve won this game and more at the subsequent stages.” he told the club website.
The Venoms will miss the services of goalkeeper Ismail Watenga, captain Nicholas Wadada, Moses Waiswa and Milton Karisa who are on national team duty.
Tonny Odur and Musa Malouda who missed the flight to South Africa are back into the team and the coach is also expected to give playing time to youngster Frank Tumwesigye alias Zagga.
Vipers eliminated Premeo at the round of 64 before ejecting Soana 2-0 at the round of 32.
