Vipers SC is close to agreeing terms with Kenyan utility player Innocent Wafula according to latest reports.
Wafula who was released by Gor Mahia recently after being deemed surplus to requirement is set to join the Venoms.
Gor Mahia CEO Lordvick Aduda was quoted in November by soka.co.ke saying Wafula was no longer needed.
“He is on a Bosman. His association with us ends in December. We have Philemon Otieno and Wellington Ochieng who can play at right back and even our new acquisition Pascal Ogweno can also slot in there so I think we are well covered,” Aduda said of the player who joined the club in 2015.
Wafula attended Vipers SC CAF Champions League game against CS Constantine at St. Mary’s stadium on Saturday and it is believed that he came to purposely complete the move.
” He(Wafula) is here to complete his move to Vipers SC,” said a source that preferred anonymity.
This is not the first time that Vipers SC are showing interest in Wafula. It is believed the player was supposed to join them in August but Gor Mahia and Vipers SC failed to reach an agreement.
