Barely a day after sacking Mexican tactician Javier Martinez Espinoza, Vipers SC has appointed a new coach to take on the club.
The Venoms have named Kenyan born Michael Ouma as the new coach. The three time league champions confirmed the development on the club website.
“Vipers Sports Club has this evening named a 5 man interim technical team that will be handling the club going until the end of this season.” The statement states.
“This development follows the exit of Mexican Javier Martinez Espinoza who was relieved of his duties yesterday after a disappointing performance against Tooro United left Vipers in second position 5 points off the top albeit with two games in hand, the statement further reads.
Ouma will be assisted with the old backroom stuff with Moses Oloya maintained as goalkeeping coach, Edward Ssali as a trainer and Ram Nyakana as strength and endurance coach.
This therefore means that Mubarak Wamboka who was assistant to Espinoza was also fired.
“The team includes a new face of Kenyan born Micheal Ouma as the head coach assisted by Oloya Moses as goal keeping coach, Edward Ssali as trainer with Ram Nyakana as strength and endurance coach.”
A fifth person will be named by the club administration sooner than later once all documentation is finalised.
The new team commenced work on Sunday evening with a training session in preparation for Vipers next league game against URA FC at Namboole on the 2nd January 2019.
