Vipers Sports Club president Lawrence Mulindwa has decided to give Edward Golola the full mantle to coach the club.
Golola was confirmed on Saturday evening to replace Kenyan Michael Nam Ouma who was sacked earlier in the week.
Golola will be assisted by Richard Wasswa as his deputy.
In his acceptance speech, the elated coach thanked the executive and promised to work harder at the club.
“I am immensely proud to be returning as head coach. Everyone knows my love for this club and the history we have shared. However, my sole focus is on the job in hand and preparing for the season ahead,” said Golola.
On his side, Mulindwa promised to accord Golola all the support he needs to execute his job.
Golola returns to the club for the third time after working as an interim and assistant coach previously.
He played a key role as the Venoms won all their three league titles – 2009/10, 2014/15 and 2017-18.
The club has also reinstated the technical team that had been dissolved after Ouma’s departure.
They are fitness coach Ram Nyakana Mpuga, second assistant Edward Ssali, Mathius Kasagga the physiotherapist and Moses Oloya as goalkeeping coach.
Golola’s first duty will be to guide the club in the opening game of the Pilsner Super 8 tournament against Proline on 29th this month.
