Residents of Kayunga village in Myanzi sub-county, Mubende district woke up to shocking news on Tuesday after finding their chairman dead in a shrine.
The deceased has been identified as Salongo Anania Mulindwa, 56.
Police said that the deceased was taken to the shrine for traditional healing early this month by his relatives while seriously sick.
According to police, the owner of the shrine has been identified as Salongo Asuman Kazibwe, 29, a traditional healer and resident of Myanzi village, Myanzi sub-county in Mubende district.
Nobert Ochom, the police spokesperson Wamala region said that police arrested the traditional healer and he is currently in detention at Mubende central police station.
The scene of crime was visited by the area police and the body of the deceased was taken to Kiganda health centre IV for postmortem.
The relatives were also arrested and recorded statements.
