Police has promised to divulge further details about the arrest and detention of NBS journalist Samson Kasumba
Police spokesman Fred Enaga told reporters on Tuesday that Kasumba was arrested by police last night as he retreated to his home after work.
Enanga clarified that Kasumba’s arrest has nothing to do with his journalistic work, but issues to do with “subversive activities.”

Other people still at large, Enanga said, are also being investigated.
Kasumba’s colleagues at NBS today revealed that he had been told he was being investigated for “Sedition.”
I’ve been with Samson at Kiira road Police Station, when he was arrested, he was told he was being arrested for SEDITION. A charge that was scrapped off the law books in 2010!! What did Samson Do????? #FreeSamsonKasumba

Enanga however, says police will provide a comprehensive statement on this matter.
Kasumba was initially detained at Kira Road Police Station, and earlier this morning he was led to his house where a search was conducted.
