American-Jamaican singer Tarrus Riley must have been extremely overwhelmed by the love shown to him during his recently concluded visit to Uganda where he headlined at the Swangz Avenue All-star Concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The reggae star not only performed most of his songs for Ugandans but also took it upon himself to compose for the country a special song titled ‘Uganda’.
This fondness and attachment resulted from the tour Tarrus Riley took around the Pearl of Africa three days to the concert.
“I visited Jinja; saw the source of the Nile and the beautiful scenery! My heart melted so I recorded a song specially for you,” Tarrus told the excited crowd during his performance in August.
Muyenga record label, Swangz Avenue, seized the opportunity before the show to hit the studio and recorded the audio in one night with the singer.
The video was shot at River Nile and directed by Marvin Musoke of Swangz Film and audio produced by Nessim Pan Production.
“I have been to Zimbabwe, Kenya and other countries all over the world but Uganda you have blessed me most,” the star exclaimed at the concert.
In the song, Tarrus Riley, in a Uganda Cranes jersey is basically praising the mother land, nature, how precious and gifted Uganda is as he also sings in Luganda.
