Parliament Speaker Rebecca Kadaga has suspended scores of MPs for three sittings over misconduct, Chimp Corps report.
Most of the affected lawmakers are from the opposition.
The MPs who include Mukono Municipality’s Betty Nambooze, Robert Kyagulanyi and Mohammed Nsereko were engaged in acts of violence during the plenary session.
They were caught on camera throwing chairs and heckling as they resisted plans to table a private member’s bill aimed at removing the presidential age limit of 75 years.
Other MPs suspended by Kadaga include Odonga Otto, Vincent Niwagaba, Nandala Mafabi, Mubarak Munyagwa, Barnabus Tinkasiimire, Medard Sseggona and Joseph Sewungu among others.
As soon as Kadaga announced her suspension, hell broke loose with the MPs putting up a fight.
Chairs were broken, shoe flung in the air as MPs exchanged punched with security officers.
Police and other security officers immediately swung into action, arresting several opposition lawmakers including Odonga Otto and Gerald Karuhanga.
