Kyadondo East Legislator, who is also the leader of the People Power Movement, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi wine, has come out and responded to the recent visit President Museveni paid to the ghetto youths in areas of Katwe and neighboring places over the weekend.
Among the people who met the President was Mark Bugembe aka Buchaman a former confidant and a singing partner to Bobi wine in their group ‘Fire base’ in which these two were the top leaders.
While addressing journalists this Monday morning at Buganda Road court, Kyagulanyi said that he can’t say anything about Buchaman because he is not in his league but he can only respond to the president.
“I have said it and I will always say it, that I don’t give time to irrelevant issues. When I’m to reply, I respond to Museveni my fellow leader not my fellow poor people,” Kyagulanyi said.
On people’s decisions, Kyagulanyi said that he doesn’t own any body in the ghetto but he is representing their voices and aspirations.
“We welcome him to ghetto but he should know that what we need in the ghetto is freedom, liberty, we want justice and not those handouts,” he explained.
He adds that it is surprising to see that the ghetto has for so long been abandoned but government is abruptly remembering to do what should have been done from the start.
“We grew up in the ghetto when everybody was referring to us as thugs and vagabond but later the Ghetto has uplifted its people like us who have aired out its concerns”
Kyagulanyi went ahead and pointed out that he has no problem with swiping ghetto positions with President Museveni.
Over the Weekend President Museveni met with the ghetto youths from Katwe, Kibuye and neighboring areas who explained to him their problems which he promised to address.
On the same day he launched the NRM Youth Camp at Kibuye roundabout.
