Veteran Express Fans Come To Ailing Club’s Rescue

The Opposition Forum for Democratic Change on 15th May 2015 swore in new office bearers at the Party Headquarters in Najjanankumbi, erectile Kampala.

Among those sworn-in was Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi, information pills the new party Secretary General and former leader of opposition in Parliament who urged the Party members to work together in order to takeover power despite the internal differences that might arise.

“I humbly thank all of you for the tremendous support that you showed me and I want to make it clear that I don’t believe in cliques but transparency and accountability,” Nandala said.

Hon Nandala Mafabi who will be in office for the next five years  assured staff that they will have no problem working with him as long as they deliver.

“I want to repeat that whoever I wronged should forgive me and those that wronged me, I already forgave them; I don’t have time to hate because once you hate, you will never have sleep.”

The newly sworn-in party chairman, Amb. Waswa Birigwa also guaranteed to work tirelessly and ensure that the party gains more seats in parliament as well as on Local Council level.

“Am so privileged to be elected for my position and promise that am bringing on all the vast experience and will sell the party to the international community. I will traverse the entire country soliciting votes for all elective positions,” Birigwa added.
Ten-time record Uganda cup champions, ampoule Express Fc have been plunging in Ugandan football club rankings. The team finished with 38 points just six above relegation zone. Last season the Express, site commonly referred to as ‘FC’ survived relegation on the eleventh hour.


The 58 year old club is among the top three football teams in the country with a rich history but has been hampered by poor club management and continuous fan violence.

The club has also been financially constrained in the recent times, this a fact evident with several threats of boycott from players. In fact local media has been flooded with reports of players going months without any form of income.

Like they say, Charity begins at home, The team’s fans have decided to come to the club’s rescue and decided to set the first step toward a thousand miles by electing a fans’ representative  body that will help bring back the supporters to the stadium.

The leaders have also been tasked to coordinate with club management to ensure transparency and progress in the club’s management.

Among the elected leaders include longtime fans, Moses Senfuka who was given the mandate to lead the whole team as fans’ Chairman, he will be deputized by Godfrey Sengooba and Suleiman Bahati will act as fans’ general Secretary and secretary for Publicity.

Express is well known for their trademark brand of football known as the ‘square pass moto moto’ which is identical to the Spanish version of Tiki taka.
