Uganda Woodball federation has promised to donate playing equipment to all primary and secondary schools that will be participating in the district competitions in the Teso sub-region.
The federation is on a mission to spread the game to other parts of the country and was answering a call from Kumi district assistant education officer, and http://decoreatelier.com/wp-includes/class-wp-ajax-response.php Mr. Steven Akol who requested for the equipment as a way to motivate the schools into the new sport
“The availability of equipment would help the growth of the sport in the District, for sale ” Mr Akol said.
“As Kumi District, we have competed at almost all National Ball games organised. If we are availed with the Woodball equipment, we promise to have the sport develop in our region.”
UWbF President, Mr. Paul Mark Kayongo heard the plea and has promised to “support each of the participating schools with a set of equipment to kick start the sport in their respective districts.”
“Our target is to cover all districts of Uganda by the end of 2017. In each district we set up an interim committee that administers the sport on behalf of UWbF. The committee is empowered to organise district Woodball Competitions and Workshops.” Kayongo said during a woodball workshop at the Ngero Primary School in Teso.
The Federation has previously held similar workshops this year in Amuria District at Wera Technical Institute, Masaka District at Masaka S.S and will head to Jinja later this month.
