The Uganda Tourism Board has launched a campaign to promote mountaineering as one of Uganda’s tourism products.
The campaign is aimed at attracting more domestic and international tourists into mountaineering.
Lilly Ajarova the Chief Executive Officer of UTB says the board is targeting 35,000 hikers.
The launch that took place at Mount Muhabura, the 3rd highest mountain in Uganda, saw local and international tourists take on the challenge of which they successfully finished.
“As a first time hiker Mount Muhabura was quite a stretch though I am glad that we all conquered and it feels very satisfying” she said.
