Uganda Tourism Board has applauded Miss Tourism Queen Anita Ayebare for representing Uganda in the just concluded Miss Tourism World pageant.
Ayebare emerged as fourth runner up in the grand finale that took place in the Croatian capital Zagreb.
The beauty queen stood out for her eloquence and knowledge of the tourism industry and was the only African representative left for the global crown at the finale.
It was the 74th Edition of the Miss Tourism World pageant, where Uganda was taking part for the first time.
While speaking at the welcome dinner for Ayebare held on Monday 10 at Sheraton Hotel Kampala, Mr. Bradford Ochieng, Deputy CEO UTB applauded Ayebare for putting Uganda on the map.
“We are committed to promoting tourism; every one of us has a role to play in this industry, which is why we have to thank Anita for all the endurance she took.
Working with 54 plus countries on the same stage is a big achievement to improve the image of Uganda.
For us to be in the map of Croatia is also another special achievement to celebrate.
We pledge and shall continue to work with you and with others outside there that have intent and purposes of promoting Uganda as a pristine destination,” said Ochieng.
Speaking to Chimpreports, Ayebare revealed that it was due to her confidence and experience in the tourism sector and Uganda’s Video she presented, which kept her on the top.
According to Ayebare, the video showcasing Uganda’s heritage and beautiful sceneries shocked everyone at the event.
“They thought Uganda had completely nothing to showcase, but upon watching the video I presented, everyone was impressed and overwhelmed.
Some of the people started asking me if some of the clips in the video were just faked to make Uganda look beautiful and what to them meant a-must Visit destination.”
Ayebare also thanked Uganda Tourism Board and her parents for the support rendered to her throughout the entire journey.
Allan Kanyike Bwette, CEO Miss Tourism also thanked Anita for representing Uganda at such a high level event and her parents too for the support.
“You made us proud in selling the country; I would like to thank Anita’s parents for accepting to hand over their daughter to us with all the support.”
