Uganda Revenue Authority Staff on Thursday donated and delivered a number of relief items to the victims of Bukalasi Landslides in Bududa District
Earlier this month, heavy rains led to landslides in parts of Bududa and Bukalisa that left two people dead, homesteads destroyed, livestock lost. Many people were displaced and many of them ended up in camps.
Earlier in October, bigger landslides in the same district claimed over 50 lives.
Several companies and individuals have over the weeks delivered relief items in terms of food, beddings and other household useful items to help out the displaced people
The URA team is the latest to join in in this social responsibility drive. URA staff mobilized and donated 50 bags of rice, 50 bags of sugar, 500 brackets, assorted plastics and clothing to the affected families.
In a statement release by the Assistant Commissioner Public and Corporate Affairs, URA Micah Galya, he said, “For URA, the culture of charity has an immeasurable impact on our communities and that is why URA management has given chance to its employees to contribute labor to local causes that can result in meaningful team building and shared personal values”
