The 4th East African Community University Students’ Debate on EAC regional integration, cheapest a forum that was initiated to engage the interest of University students is set to take place on 7th and 8th September, physician 2015 in Kampala, Uganda.

Information from EAC reveals that this year’s debate will focus on values, ethics and leadership which are critical in advancing the broad aims of the EAC integration with the youth as key stakeholders.

These three virtues are vital in moulding the choices that the youth make by imparting in them the desired morals such as integrity and accountability that are crucial for an integrated East Africa.

The debate also aims at promoting continuous youth participation in EAC integration issues, encourage networking among university students, prepare the youth for future leadership roles as well as popularize them with the EAC integration agenda.

The organizers said that six participants drawn from public and private universities from each of the five Partner States will propose or oppose the motion. However participation in the debate is limited to students who are in their second year at the university.

The debating session will be in three sets with one hour for both proposing and opposing team to debate. There will also be room for rebuttals as well as intervention by the audience of which each team will respond to. Each debating session will be concluded by a wrap up by the panelist.

According to the organizers, the top two teams will have rebuttals so as to get the winning team. The final decision will be made by the judges after consultations with the interveners, the moderator and timekeepers.

The best debaters will be appointed as EAC Youth Ambassadors 2015/2016 with an obligation to spearhead peer-to-peer learning in their respective universities in collaboration with the EAC Secretariat, the East African Legislative Assembly and Ministries of EAC Affairs in the Partner States.


The event will be attended by representatives from academia, private sector, civil society, media and technocrats from the East African region.

The gala dinner, which will be officiated by the Secretary General of the EAC Amb. Dr. Richard Sezibera will mark the climax of the debating forum.
2014 Uganda cup winners Uganda Revenue Authority Football club has confirmed that three of their key players have left the country for South Africa to undergo a two week trials with Two PSL clubs.

The three include creative midfield duo; Kyeyune Saidi and Mugerwa Yasser who are heading to giants Orlando Pirates.

The two left the country on Monday morning aboard South African airline.

“URA FC Kyeyune and Mugerwa (are) off to South Africa’s Orlando Pirates for Trails. The dual (duo) left for South Africa this morning aboard South African Airlines at 07:15am for a two weeks trail, viagra ” A statement from URA read in part.

Kyeyune Saidi and Mugerwa Yasser join Kalanda Frank who left for South Africa on Sunday 05th July 2015 for trails with PSL Free States Stars.

Frank Kalanda and Yasser Mugerwa were part of the Uganda Cranes Chan squad that drew with Tanzania’s Taifa Stars at Nakivubo Stadium on Saturday.

Kalanda scored a total of twelve goals for the tax collectors in the just concluded season while Yassar netted twice.
