Bright Stars FC returned to winning ways in style following a winless run of three games. They humiliated Kirinya Jinja SS 4-1 at Champions stadium, Mwererwe.
Fred Kajjoba’s coached team produced one of their best performances this season to convincingly defeat visiting Kirinya.
As early as the third minute, Augustine Kacancu had found the back of the net for the home side who from then dominated proceedings.
Midway through the second stanza, Nelson Ssenkatuka doubled the lead and Bright Stars FC carried a 2-0 at halftime.
Kirinya Jinja SS pulled one back from the spot through Fred Amaku who had come off the bench replacing Nelson Mandela.
For the second successive game, Kirinya Jinja SS were reduced to ten players. This time round it was striker Dan Ssewava who got marching orders from referee William Oloya.
The robust striker had replaced youngster Vincent Zziwa in the 57th minute but it only took him two minutes to get booked for a foul on Andrew Kaggwa.
Ten minutes later, he was shown the second booking which meant, he had to go off thus Kirinya ending the game with ten players.
Numerical advantage played to Bright Stars advantage who stretched their lead with Ssenkatuka getting his second on the day from the spot.
Brian Kayanja sealed the win for the Stars scoring deep in added time to complete the rout.
Bright Stars FC move to 4th place on 11 points while Kirinya Jinja SS drop to 11th on 5 points.
