UPL: Wounded Vipers Visit Tricky Tooro United

Uganda Premier League
Tooro United FC vs Vipers SC
Buhinga stadium, Fort Portal

Vipers Sports Club 34 league match unbeaten run came to an end over the weekend with a 3-1 home loss to SC Villa.

This loss dented the Venoms hopes of reclaiming the league title despite their rivals KCCA FC also dropping points against Bright Stars FC.

Vipers SC is currently second on the log on 37 points, four behind leaders KCCA FC who will return to action on Wednesday against BUL FC.

Michael Ouma’s charges make the trip to South Western Uganda well aware of the gap and will be hoping to recover from the loss to SC Villa.

” We know Tooro United FC is a tough team especially at their home, they have made Buhinga stadium a fortress but we go into this game targeting maximum points.”

Since shifting to Buhinga stadium at the start of the season, Tooro United FC is yet to lose a game at home both in the league and Uganda Cup.

Vipers SC travel with a seemingly depleted squad. Skipper Taddeo Lwanga picked his sixth yellow card and thus he’s suspended.

Utility player Geoffrey Wasswa continues to be on the sidelines following an injury he picked in training on Friday.

Yayo Lutimba who was awful on Saturday has been dropped and his place taken by Aziz Kayondo a player from the junior team. Tito Okello has also been dropped.

Tooro United under coach Wasswa Bossa needed a later goal to edge Paidha Black Angels on Saturday a result that propelled them to 6th place on 27 points.

The first leg between Vipers SC and Tooro United FC ended in a barren stalemate.
