Wakiso Giants returns to the winning ways in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after going three games without winning.
Karim Ndugwa came off the bench to score the winner for the Purple Sharks as they came from behind to beat Busoga United 2-1 at Kabaka Kyabagu stadium in Wakiso on Friday evening..
Viane Ssekajugo had drawn the Purple Sharks level before half time after Abubaker Otwo had put the visitors into the lead.
The game started with the Purple Sharks the better side but were forced into an early substitution when Yasin Mugabi was replaced by Derrick Emukule after he was injured by Dan Ssewava.
In the 26th minute, Otwo scored with a thunderbolt after being set up by Boban Zirintusa from a free kick after Fahad Kawooya had fouled near the area.
Ssekajugo drew the home side level in additional time of the first half with a header off Simon Namwanja cross from the left.
Hassan Ssenyonjo could have added the second but shot wide as the half time ended even.
A few minutes into the second half, Karim Ndugwa came on for Geoffrey Sserunkuma who was denied by a last ditch clearance.
Ndugwa scored the winner in 72nd minute off a rebound after Lawrence Bukenya had hit the cross bar from over 25 yards.
Interim head coach Steven Bengo introduced Hassan Wasswa Dazo for Amos Muwonge as he went for safety and the Sharks held on for the first win in four games.
Wakiso Giants is now seventh on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table with 16 points from seven games, their next game will be away to Kyetume on Tuesday November 12th.
