UPL: Wakiso Giants Edged By Police At Home

Wakiso Giants kicked off the second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with a 2-1 home loss against Police FC.

The Cops scored through Ben Ocen and Andrew Samson Kigozi in the game played at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Saturday.

Geoffrey Sserunkuma opened his league account for the Purple Sharks but his goal wasn’t enough for the Livingstone Mbabazi coached side.

A careless start for the home side was punished by a second minute goal from Ocen who got at the end of Arafat Galiwango ball.

Sserunkuma equalised eight minutes later with his first of the season and he had another opportunity cleared off the line before the break.

The second half was evenly poised until the 67th minute when Kigozi all alone headed home past Yasin Mugabi for the winner.

A loss left Wakiso Giants eighth on the 16-team table with 20 points from 16 games while Police FC is now 13th on the log with 15 points.
