The StarTimes Uganda Premier League match day 16 returned on Tuesday and for table leaders Vipers SC will play their first match of the second round against Kyetume FC at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Friday January 10th.
The Venoms won the first round encounter 2-1 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole despite the visitors giving them a run for their money.
The Venoms enter this game on top of the table with 36 points and a win on Friday evening will see them moving to 39 points.
“We have prepared ourselves well knowing that this campaign is not easy. Its going to be tough and we need to be ready for anything,” Vipers SC head coach Edward Golola said before adding.
“The team has also one or two new faces that are charged and motivated to give their best. They’re ready to be unleashed,” he added.
New signing Paul Mucureezi, an attacking midfielder and jet-heeled winger, is fit as a fiddle and expected to make his Vipers debut while Bobos Byaruhanga has a slight knock picked during training and will have to beat a late fitness test.
Meanwhile, Bashir Asiku and Abraham Ndugwa are sidelined with injuries while Shaban Muhammad and Livingstone Mulondo are under rehabilitation following surgeries.
