Vipers SC 1-1 KCCA FC
KCCA FC snatched a point away from Vipers in a league game played at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
Filbert Obenchan levelled matters at the start of the second stanza after the hosts had taken an earlier lead through Dan Mzee Sserunkuma.
The teams settled for a one all draw to remain unbeaten.
Mike Mutebi’s charges who dominated the game, especially the second half, could have snatched the whole three points but Saddam Juma missed from the spot.
The game lived to the advertisement – an earlier title decider – as both teams created chances through entertaining display from both ends of the pitch.
The point leaves Vipers SC on top of the log with 14 points from six games.
KCCA drops to third with 12 points, replaced by BUL FC who routed new comers Ndejje University in Njeru.
Earlier through the game, Mutombora punched back Mustafa’s freekick as KCCA went first on target in the 15th minute.
Four minutes later, Tayo Lutimba went for power but his rocket went way off the target.
Patrick Kaddu was at the end of Kiiza Mustafa’s cross but his tap in went off the target before Allan Okello at close range a minute later.
Ten minutes before the break, Mzee Sserunkuma Dan, un marked, taped in from point black range off Sseninde’s minus.
Trailing by a goal at the start of the second half, Coach Mike Mutebi withdrew Kiiza for Muwadda Mawejje as he opted for direct play, which later worked.
In the 47th minute, Obenchan restored parity when he the hosts failed to clear from Allan Okello’s low freekick.
Seven minutes off the hour mark, Halid brought down Allan Kyambadde in the area for referee Alex Muhabi to point at the spot.
Shot stopper Mutombora saved the penalty with his leg as Saddam Juma went for a low kick.
Coach Martinez brought on Janjali Joseph and Tom Masiko for Abram Nduggwa and Noah Wafula respectively, but the side couldn’t restore their lead.

Next for the Venoms is a trip to Wankulukuku to face on form Express on November 7.
KCCA will look to keep their unbeaten record safe when they SC Villa on November 6 in Namboole.
