Pressure continued to mount on Wasswa Bbosa and his Tooro United charges after losing a third consecutive game in the 2019/2020 StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
After losing against Vipes and Wakiso Giants respectively, the Soccer Jaguars again lost 2-0 against Maroons at waterlogged Betway Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku on Tuesday evening in the game played for 80 minutes after a delay because of rain.
Solomon Walusimbi broke the deadlock for the visiting side with a simple pressing in the 7th minute following a defensive lapse from Tooro United.
Tooro almost equalized in the 11th but Isa Mubiru’s effort from free kick but Maroons’ custodian Hannington Ssebwalunnyo was in right position to save his side.
Tooro came closer again in the 42nd minute of the game but Godfrey Lwesibawa’s shot was not well directed, they were at it again in the 45th minute but this time around it was Ssebwalunnyo at Maroons’ rescue with a thigh save from Ibrahim Kayiwa’s shot.
To make matters worse for Tooro, substitute Steven Mukwala doubled Maroons’ lead in the 63rd minute with yet another strike from defensive lapse, Rashid Again dribbled past Tooro’s defence but was closed up by custodian Chris Kusiima who failed to secure the ball which was found by Mukwala and freely slotted home.
Tooro United will visit URA at Mandela National Stadium Namboole on Friday September 13th; Bbosa will be back on touchline after serving his three match ban.
