Express FC vs Vipers SC, 4 PM
Express will play host to Vipers SC in one of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League games to be played on the second day of Matchday seven.
The ‘Friendly derby’ that is to go underway at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku, will be telecast live on Sanyuka TV.
This is a much anticipated tie that finds favourites Vipers winless in their last two games and the side will be seeking to return to winning ways – The game finds the hosts in good form having picked maximum points in their recent league games.
This, comes a day after Express unveiled their Sh400M from online Betting firm Betway, in an event held at Africana Hotel. The club also showcased their new looking kits.
Express FC coach Kefa Kisala, speaking ahead of the game, as quoted by the club website: “This is football, history doesn’t count a lot, they were the champions last season they won the trophy so we are going to play a team we know that is strong.
“It won’t be easy but we have 90 minutes at stake and 3 points we shall put a very good standard.”
He added: “There’s no pressure, this is a marathon so we still have a long way to go and we are not going to put our players under pressure because all games have equal points and our focus is to manage the game well and fight for the three points.
Express will be boosted by the return of Billy Nkata and Nasir Mbabali, however the game comes too early for Robben Paul Kabuye.
For Vipers, captain Taddeo Lwanga returns from suspension, Aggrey Madoi and Tito Okello are also available for selection. Livingstone Mulondo, Rahmat Senfuka, Davis Kasirye are still sidelined.

Players To Watch:
Mzee Dan Sserunkuma (Express FC) – He left for Vipers from Express halfway through last season. He has been a vital figure in their roster and a source of goals. He will receive a negative response from the home fans but he has showed that he can stand against anything including those rants. He scored an hat-trick against Express when they were put to a 5-0 sword in May this year.
Tony Odur (Express FC) – He transferred, as a surplus to requirements, from Vipers to Express. His return to Express has seen ‘Ten’ put up a strong performance that has elevated the club way up the table. He will come with a point to prove against his former masters.
