KCCA FC endured a frustrating evening as Mbarara City FC put up a resilient performance to hold them to a goalless draw at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.

Despite the game ending in a barren stalemate, either side had a couple of chances. Whereas Mbarara City FC failed to find the cutting edge they had goalkeeper Ali Kimera to thank after numerous saves to deny KCCA FC.

The shot stopper put up a man of the match performance making numerous saves to keep KCCA FC at bay.

The visitors did not respect KCCA FC and marched them for the better part of the game. Actually, Mbarara City FC looked the better team in the opening stanza.

As early as the 8th minute, Eric Ssenjobe made a timely interception to deny Karim Ndugwa who was through on goal.

Moments later, Paul Mucureezi who was facing his former employers had a ferocious strike just outside the area but KCCA FC keeper Charles Lukwago was equal to the effort.

There was oscillation of chances for either side but the best effort of the first half fell to Ndugwa who was unlucky as his strike rattled the wood work.

KCCA FC started the second half like a house on fire in a bid to break the deadlock but Mbarara City FC back line manned by Hillary Mukundane and Asuman Harrisheh remained impenetrable.

Despite bringing on Allan Kyambadde and Musa Esenu to throw more bodies up front, Mbarara City FC remained composed and calm.

Deep into added time, KCCA FC were reduced to ten men with Hassan Jura sent off after getting a second yellow card.

The youngster fouled Mucurezi who was through towards goal. He had earlier received the first booking midway through the first half.

Mucurezi almost converted from the resultant free kick at the edge of the box but Lukwago in goal for KCCA FC made a fine save to parry the ball away.

The result leaves KCCA FC in second place on 11 points while Mbarara City FC are 8th on seven points.
