UPL: Renewed Hope As SC Villa Host Maroons

Thursday, December 6
SC Villa vs Maroons, 4 PM

SC Villa will play host to visisting Maroons FC in the only match day ten StarTimes Uganda Premier League game to be played on Thursday.

The tie at Mandela National Stadium, will bring together two teams that are heading in different directions at the moment.

Following a recent managerial reshuffle at SC Villa, the 16 time record winners picked their first league win after eight failed attempts.

Coach Douglas Bamweyana who replaced Moses Basena guided the sleeping giants to a narrow 1-0 victory over Nyamityobora on match day eight in Wankulukuku.

“We will look to use our opportunities as our biggest worry is how to convert those chances,” noted Bamweyana, recently.

There’s now renewed hope after that victory as the fans have started to believe that the season is not yet gone.

Villa will now seek to build on that new momentum as they take on a troubled Maroons side.

However, Villa are yet to win at home this season – The side has picked three losses (Onduparaka, Vipers and KCCA) and a goalless draw against URA.

The Luzira based side on the other hand, are in the drop zone with six points from nine games. Coach Sam Timbe’s charges have won once (Onduparaka) and shared spoils thrice (URA, Police and Jinja).

Maroons have lost five games heading to match day ten – Bright Stars, Vipers, Mbarara City, BUL FC and KCCA FC have all beaten up on Maroons.
