New League entrants Paidha Black Angels picked their first win in the top tier league on Tuesday edging past Police FC.
The win came in remarkable fashion with Paidha needing to come from a goal down to win the game 2-1.
With Bar Okoro stadium in Zombo district deemed not fit to host league games, Paidha were forced to seek refuge at Onduparaka’s Green Light stadium as their home ground.
Veteran players Andrew Kidega and Yuda Mugalu scored a goal each to cancel out Ashraf ‘Fadiga’ Mugume Bamutukari’s earlier goal for the cops.
With both sides coming into the game off loses in their opening game, a quick recovery was all they wanted.
Police FC who had lost 2-1 to BUL FC on Saturday took the lead in the 25th minute through youngster Mugume who is on loan from Vipers SC.
However, the hosts made sure the game went into halftime all square with Kidega levelling matters in the 43rd minute.
Kidega was fouled inside the box and referee Rajab Bakasambe pointed to the spot. He later composed himself to convert the resultant penalty.
The decisive moment of the game came in the 66th minute through former KCCA FC, Lweza and BUL FC striker Yuda Mugalu.
Victory lifts Paidha to 9th place on three points while Police FC is third from bottom with no point.
