Vipers SC vs Onduparaka FC
St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende
Tuesday, 8th January 2019
Edward Golola will begin his third stint at Vipers SC with a home tie against Arua based outfit Onduparaka FC on Tuesday.
Christened German, Golola was on Sunday named interim head coach at Vipers SC replacing Mexican Javier Martinez Espinoza.
Golola who has recently been at FUFA Big League side Kitara FC takes on Onduparaka FC hoping to bring a sigh of relief following dismal performance in the previous outings for the Venoms.
Vipers SC have drawn their last two games(Tooro United and Bright Stars FC) both ending in goalless draws, results that have seen them drop seven points behind current leaders KCCA FC despite the Venoms having two games in hand.
The target for Golola will therefore to help the team return to winning ways and keep within breathing space of their title rivals.
Skipper Taddeo Lwanga returns after missing three games due to a foot injury he sustained while playing against BUL FC.
Tito Okello and Abraham Ndugwa who missed the trip to Mwererwe are also back plus Fabien Mutombora who limped off in the goalless draw against Bright Stars.
St. Mary’s stadium has been a bad hunting ground for Onduparaka FC who have lost 4-1 and 2-0 in their last two visits.
The Caterpillars third on the log with 24 points will be hoping to bounce back from the goalless draw against Mbarara City FC and stun the Venoms.
Dennis Okot is still suspended following the red card he got in the game against URA FC while skipper Rashid Toha is likely to return.
