UPL: Obenchan’s Lone Strike Earns KCCA FC a Win Over Mbarara City

Filbert Obenchan’s 51st minute header was enough to guide KCCA FC to their maiden win against Mbarara City FC as well as their first victory in the new decade.

Obenchan replaced Musa Ramathan in the 45th minute, who had earlier on got a booking in the first half.

Hassan Musana’s corner kick met a floating Filbert Obenchan who nodded to send the home crowd in a frenzy.

Earlier on in the game, Kato almost put KCCA FC ahead but Mbarara goalkeeper Sekeba Muhamad parried the ball wide.

Sekisambu would have put KCCA FC ahead after he seemed to have beaten the Mbarara highline defense with their keeper, but his effort rolled inches off the upright.

Kasozi, Muzamiru, and Sekisambu exchanged passes but the latter’s effort was cleared offline by Mukundane in the 22nd minute.

Sekisambu had the opportunity to double the lead but Sekeba’s heroics denied him the chance.

A win took KCCA FC to 35 points and are now within touching distance with log leaders Vipers FC.
