Friday, 30th November 2018 4:30PM
Nyamityobora FC and SC Villa face off on Friday at Wankulukuku in almost similar situations. Both teams languish in the drop zone on four points apiece and the two parted ways with their coaches last week.
Playing in the league for their first time, the start has been a tough one for the Banyakare winning just one game in eight, drawing once and losing six.
The 6-1 loss to KCCA FC on Sunday saw head coach James Odoch relieved of his duties just eight games into the season.
Whereas earlier reports had indicated Alex Isabirye would take on the job, former Maroons FC and Onduparaka FC coach Asaph Mwebaze who was confirmed on Thursday evening is likely totake charge with his first game coming against SC Villa.
On the other hand, record champions SC Villa have had their worst start to a season since inception in 1975.
The Jogoos remain the only winless team in the league and with the results not coming their way, coach Moses Basena caved in to pressure from the fans and threw the towel after the two all draw against Nyamityobora FC.
Douglas Bamweyana has since taken over charge at SC Villa and his first task to revive SC Villa will be a trip to Wankulukuku on Friday.
Formerly at bitter rivals Express FC where he failed to impress, Bamweyana has a big job on his hands but he is confident the players available will do the task to revive the team.
” It is a big challenge of me and I’m aware but only unity at the moment will help us. We shall do our job as the technical team to make sure the team returns to where it belongs. I believe the players available are capable of accomplishing the task.” He said after conducting his first training session on Wednesday.
SC Villa will be without defender Savio Kabugo and goalkeeper Brian Bweete who are out injured. These join long term absentees Samson Kirya and Joseph Nsubuga.
A win for either side will take them out of the relegation zone.
