UPL: Nyamityobora Confirm Asaph Mwebaze As New Coach

StarTimes Uganda Premier League new comers Nyamityobora have confirmed Asaph Mwebaze as the new coach.

The club chairman Eng Ben Misagga confirmed the development on Thursday evening.

“It’s done, Mwebaze is now Nyamityobora FC coach,” Misagga tweeted. “He handles the boys from tomorrow. I will fully support him because he has been my friend. I like straight people he’s one of the few.”

Mwebaze replaces James Odoch who was recently fired for poor performance.

Odoch lost 6-1 away to KCCA FC in Lugogo to leave the club in the drop zone with four points.

The former Maroons FC coach beats Alex Isabirye to the job. He has signed a three year contract, this website has learnt.

Asaph Mwebaze joins the Abanyakare after a short stint with West Nile outfits Onduparaka FC where he resigned citing pressure at the club among other reasons behind his exit.

Mwebaze’s immediate task will be to assemble an army within limited time to see the club survive the drop in their first attempt.

The new coach’s first piece of action will be against SC Villa in the league on Friday at the Betway Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

It should be noted that this will be the second time that Mwebaze face SC Villa this season. He led Onduparaka to a 1-0 win over the Jogoos in Namboole.
